CLAE PERSPECTIVES: SHIN OKUDA
Following the release of the Early Spring 2015 collection, CLAE introduces Perspectives, an ongoing video series giving viewers a closer look into the daily lives of artists, designers and friends of the brand. Perspectives spotlights individuals who share CLAE’s aesthetic values and design sensibilities.
The first installment of Perspectives features Los Angeles-based furniture designer, Shin Okuda, who also designed the fixtures for CLAE's Los Angeles flagship store. Seen wearing CLAE’s newest Hoffman runner and Gregory SP court shoe, Okuda welcomes us into his design workshop WAKA WAKA to discuss his process of minimal design and focus on details and craftsmanship.
ALONSO TAL: CALIFORNIA DREAMING
Winding his way through a 43-mile daily commute, Alonso Tal is living his own version of the California dream. Taking in the history and culture of LA in a way few people will ever be fortunate enough to do, the talented artist and cyclist makes a couple stops along the way including his art studio downtown, CLAE’s retail/creative studio Our Favorite Shop (OFS) in Mid-City and Mike’s Bike Shop just down the street, where Alonso has been building his bikes and skateboards for the last 6 years.

CLAE TENTH YEAR ANNIVERSARY
On a hot steamy July evening at the close of men’s market week in New York City, CLAE celebrated its tenth anniversary with an intimate, family affair hosted by LTD and Modelo on the penthouse rooftop of the Hotel on Rivington. More than 150 old and new friends came out to show their love, and good vibes were definitely in the air.
A CONVERSATION WITH MATTIEU SCHREYER
We had a chance to sit down with Mathieu Schreyer, one of our favorite DJ's and the face of CLAE's Spring/Summer 2012 Collection. Schreyer discusses his unique global upbringing, early musical influences and the contrast between preparing for his weekly KCRW radio show in Los Angeles and DJing at some of the city's most legendary clubs. An interesting view into the double life of an established radio host and club DJ, Mathieu's global influences take viewers on a worldwide journey.
CLAE TRAVELS: VIETNAM
Travel is a big part of everything we do at CLAE. Whether for pleasure or work, travel fuels our creativity and always inspires. While on a recent bi-annual shoe development trip to Vietnam where we not only put the finishing touches on our A/W 2012 collection, but also prepared for the launch of Spring 2012, we made a short film that captures just a glimpse of the energy we experienced during our daily moped commute through the chaotic streets of Ho Chi Minh City. Here's wishing you a year filled with adventure, no matter where your road may lead in 2012. Enjoy the ride.
