While we were in NYC for the Capsule show last week, we took an afternoon off to check out what was going on at the Whitney Museum.
We were more than pleasantly surprised by Charles LeDray: workworkworkwork. LeDray, a former art museum security guard and self-taught artist, creates intricate scaled-down works in cloth, ceramics, and human bone that make you re-examine your relationship to your own wardrobe at the very least. On another floor, Modern Life: Edward Hopper And His Time awaits....
Seeing Edward Hopper’s work in the flesh, and in the context of this show, gave us new perspective on modern life as we move at the speed of information. Upset only that we couldn't take any flicks, it's only right that we share some highlights we found online. It’s a must if you are in the city.
